Lost in Translation

Whilst travelling abroad, it’s not uncommon to come across some interesting uses of language – either translations into English or occasions when a word is used in the native language but which has a totally different sense in your own language.

I’ve seen several around South America (the Farto chain of pharmacies in Brasil never failed to amuse), but my current favourite is the advert that is doing the rounds at the moment for a University in a town near Buenos Aires. Once you see the name of the town, no further explanation is necessary.
