Microcentro

Bustling, busy and chaotic, the historic and business centre of Buenos Aires, known as Microcentro, has many reasons to visit it, and not just because it’s the usual start-point for our “Pay What You Want” walking tours!

The main area attraction here is Plaza de Mayo, the most important and significant square in Argentina. Bordered by the Cabildo (the original town hall where the founding fathers met in 1810), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the President’s offices, known as the Casa Rosada, the Plaza de Mayo is a focal point for tourists and locals alike.

Other highlights in the area include the iconic Obelisco, the Avenida 9 de Julio (said to be the widest avenue in the world) and the architectural wonderland that is Avenida de Mayo, leading up to the Congreso Nacional. Again, much of this you would see on our “Pay What You Want” tour.
