Punta del Este

If you fancy a few days away from the city and feel the need to dip your toes in the ocean then you might want to consider a visit across the River Plate to Punta del Este. A mix of a European all inclusive holidays resort and architecture that wouldn’t look out of place in Miami, it’s become the place that all the beautiful people of Argentina and Uruguay go to be be “seen”.

If crowds are not your thing then it’s probably a good idea to avoid Punta in January or February but out of season you’ll have the beaches and exclusive boutique-lined stores almost to yourself – the prefect spot to relax and enjoy a little bit of South American sunshine.
